Milestones

On January 5th and 6th, the fifth session of the 13th Beijing People’s Political Consultative Conference and the fifth session of the 15th Beijing People's Congress opened successively. BJ Travel, a subsidiary of BAIC Group, fully put into service to support safe travel for the two sessions. 16 ARCFOX vehicles and 17 special service support staff were assigned to timely respond to the needs of the two sessions.

BAIC Group actively participated in the service guarantee work for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games during February 4 to March 13. 330 BEIJING EU7 battery electric vehicles and 515 FOTON AUV hydrogen energy buses were used as service support vehicles to provide travel services for guests from all over the world. During the Winter Paralympics, 40 Welcabs converted from FOTON AUV buses provided travel convenience for disabled athletes.

BAIC Group provides service vehicles and full-time vehicles for NPC&CPPCC for 18 years in a row. BAIC Group assigned 8 BEIJING EU7 battery electric vehicles, 44 FOTON AUV hydrogen energy buses and a team of service support personnel to back up the NPC&CPPCC in March.

At 17:30 on April 16, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, three astronauts on Shenzhou 13, returned to Beijing Aerospace Town by three specially modified FOTON Tuyano light buses. Vehicles from BAIC Group’s sub-brands backed up China aerospace again with high quality.

Officially launched on May 7, brand-new ARCFOX αS HI was positioned as an advanced i-drive battery electric car and was the world's first mass-produced car supporting advanced i-drive on urban roads.

Zhao Lijian, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, posted an article on his personal real name microblog to "endorse" BAIC Group's booming international business. On the same day, Huang Xilian, ambassador to the Philippines, visited Foton Automobile Philippines for research, which has ranked first in sales in the Philippine six-wheel truck market for two consecutive years through the efforts of commercial vehicle technology upgrade and market development in 15 years.

Beijing Benz’s 4 millionth complete vehicle, also a brand-new domestically produced battery electric vehicle EQE, rolled off the assembly line in factory at Shunyi on June 13. Along with its 4 millionth engine rolled off the assembly line in the first quarter, Beijing Benz has officially entered “Dual-Four-Million” era.

On June 15, BAIC Group held an online press conference for the "BLUE Plan", announcing that it will further promote comprehensive new energy and intelligent connectivity, create a full range of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles that are green and low-carbon, and strive to reach carbon peak in 2025 and achieve complete decarbonization on all products and carbon neutral operation by 2050.

BEIJING X55, another substantial achievement of BAIC Group’s high-quality development, officially launched on July 28.

2022 Fortune Global 500 list was released on August 3. BAIC Group has been selected into this world’s top 500 list for 10 consecutive years and ranked 162th with revenue of 481.76 billion yuan.

On September 23, Mercedes-Benz’s first domestic heavy truck officially rolled off the assembly line at the new factory of Beijing FOTON DAIMLER Automobile Co., Ltd.

On October 16, the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Beijing. Jiang Deyi, a representative of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of BAIC Group, listened to the report on the spot. He said that listening to the report was a spiritual baptism, which inspired a deep feeling of pride, and he will publicize and implement the spirit of the Party's 20 Congresses as soon as get back to work. In the future, BAIC Group will integrate into the “Five Key Initiatives” development pattern based on “Four Centers” construction, and fulfill its original mission of “manufacture brilliant cars for China”.

On October 16, the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Beijing. All party members, cadres and employees of BAIC Group watched and listened to the opening in various ways. Everyone said that they will work together to reach substantial achievements oriented to Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era on the new journey.

On November 9, BAIC Group held the 2022 Science and Technology Innovation Conference to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, comprehensively promote the construction of "Technology BAIC" and "high-level talent highland", and strongly boost the high-quality development of BAIC Group.

Creatively combining the comfort of “home” with the professionalism of “play”，BEIJING Off-Road BJ60 was officially launched on November 12, opening up a new track of comfortable off-road.

Launched in Johannesburg, South Africa at 19:00 local time on November 15, BEIJING X55 was aimed to provide local consumers with smarter and more technologically advanced smart cars intelligently manufactured in China.
